ðŸŒī Know Your Rights Before You Take That Vacation

Holiday season is coming and everyone's planning their getaway. But do you actually know what leave rights the law guarantees you?

📋 Annual Leave Rights Under the Labour Protection Act

The Basic Entitlement

Section 30 states that any employee who has worked for a full year is entitled to at least 6 working days of paid annual leave per year. The employer sets the schedule, or both parties can agree on dates in advance.

❓ What If You Haven't Worked a Full Year Yet?

You're still covered. Employers may grant proportional leave to employees who haven't yet completed one year of service, based on the number of days actually worked.

❓ Can You Carry Unused Leave Over to Next Year?

Yes — if the employer and employee mutually agree, unused annual leave can be accumulated and carried forward to the following year.

❓ What If You Resign or Get Laid Off With Unused Leave?

The employer is legally required to pay you for any remaining unused leave days, regardless of whether you resigned or were terminated. This is a right many employees don't know about — and end up losing out on.

☀️ Now that your leave is sorted, time to pack smart. Every good trip needs a reliable water bottle that keeps up with you — hot or cold, morning to night.
